General description

葡聚糖是分子量≥1,000道尔顿的多糖，有一条α-D-吡喃葡萄糖基重复单元连接的线型主链。葡聚糖是细菌胞外多糖。它们是由肠膜明串珠菌和短乳杆菌通过蔗糖合成。细菌合成右旋糖酐用于生物被膜形成，致病菌则将其作为保护性包被以便入侵宿主的吞噬细胞。肠膜明串珠菌
