一般描述
转铁蛋白是一种血清糖蛋白,参与铁从吸收和储存部位向组织细胞的转运过程。铁结合的转铁蛋白,也称为铁结合转铁蛋白,可与生长细胞上的特定细胞表面受体结合,并被内吞作用内化。进入细胞后,铁被释放到细胞中,无铁转铁蛋白(也称为脱铁转铁蛋白)则通过胞吐作用释放到细胞外,而不会被降解。
应用
转铁蛋白与胰岛素类似,是大多数无血清培养基配方的一种组分。转铁蛋白的主要功能是通过受体介导的内吞作用将铁转运到细胞中。
