General description

观测值55-65 kDa
转录因子SOX-9(UniProt P48436;也称性别决定区Y-box 9蛋白,SRY相关的HMG-box基因9)由人类SOX9(也称CMD1、CMPD1、SRA1)基因(基因ID 6662)编码。Sox基因家族包含与哺乳动物性别决定基因SRY相关的基因家族。这些基因包含编码HMG-box域的序列,该序列可介导序列特异性DNA结合。Sox基因编码转录调节因子,并参与发育过程中细胞命运的决定以及各种发育过程的控制。Sox基因群非常复杂,已经发现至少40个基因组位点和至少30个Sox基因。

A major focus of breast cancer research is to understand the mechanisms responsible for disease progression and drug resistance. Toward that end, it has been found that approximately two thirds of all human breast carcinomas overexpress the Estrogen Receptor α (ERα) protein and it remains the primary pharmacological target for endocrine therapy1,2. The normal cellular function of ERα is as a transcription factor that mediates a wide variety of physiological processes, many of which are dependent upon phosphorylation of the receptor at specific amino acid residues3,4. Indeed, ERα is known to be phosphorylated at a multitude of different sites, yet how these all correlate to disease remains unclear5. Here, we interrogated multiple sites of ERα for phosphorylation status by screening an extensive panel of different breast cancer patient samples and other non-breast cancer tissue microarray (TMA) slide samples to determine their relevance to disease.
