一般描述
该蛋白是与雌激素受体密切相关的核受体。该蛋白充当位点特异性转录调节剂，并且还显示出通过直接的蛋白-蛋白接触与雌激素和转录因子 TFIIB 相互作用。该蛋白的结合和调节活性已在包括乳铁蛋白、骨桥蛋白、中链酰基辅酶 A 脱氢酶（MCAD）和甲状腺激素受体基因在内的多种基因的调节中得到证实。在小鼠中，ERRα 在许多成年和胚胎组织（特别是在骨化开始时）以及几种成骨细胞系中表达。ERRα 经记载在小鼠的大脑、脊髓、垂体和心脏中表达。
雌激素相关受体 α 是与雌激素受体相关的核受体蛋白。 据报道，它与雌激素和类似的类固醇相互作用，并作为转录激活因子发挥作用。
