General description

4,4′-Bis(1,2,2-triphenylvinyl)-1,1′-biphenyl ( BTPE) is a luminogen. It is used to design BTPE-based electroluminescence devices. Recently, it was used as a bluish-green emitter and host for organic lightemitting diodes (OLEDs).

Application

4,4′-Bis(1,2,2-triphenylvinyl)biphenyl (BTPE) nanowires can be formed by annealing the crystalline microfibers.

Two is better than one: a luminogen comprised of two units of tetraphenylethene (BTPE) emits more efficiently than that with one tetraphenylethene unit in the solid state; self-assembly of the BTPE molecules affords crystalline microfibers that fluoresce in 100% efficiency
