The volume flow rate of a fluid is defined as the volume of fluid that passes through a given cross-sectional area per unit of time. The cross-sectional area is the area through which the fluid is flowing. Volumetric flow rate is sometimes measured in "standard cubic centimeters per minute" (sccm). For flow through a tube, the rate is a constant. The formula for volumetric flow rate is as follows:
Q=V/t
Q is the flow rate
V is the volume
t is time
