General description

Hydrazine is the simplest diamine[1] mainly used as a reducing agent.[2]
Sensitive determination of hydrazine with detection limit of 10.0nM has been achieved by employing an electrochemical sensor.[3] Hydrazine undergoes dehydrogenation in the presence of bimetallic NiRh nanoparticles (NPs) supported on nitrogen-doped porous carbon (NPC) derived from metal-organic frameworks (ZIF-8) to afford hydrogen.[4]

Application

Hydrazine has been used as one of the reaction components in the synthesis of a soluble chalcogenidometallate cluster salt, which is a precursor for the preparation of SnSe2.[5]
Hydrazine may be used in the synthesis of:
  • pyridyl aminated O-linked sugar chains from glycoproteins[6]
  • nanocomposite of manganese oxide embedded in graphene sheets (GS–Mn3O4)[7]
  • formyl hydrazine by reacting with ethyl formate[8]

In this study, a facile ex situ synthesis of a polyaniline-multiwalled carbon nanotube-based Pt nanocatalyst (Pt@PANI-MWCNT) with an average particle size of 3.18 ± 0.12 nm was performed successfully. The obtained Pt@PANI-MWCNT nanocatalysts were isolated from the solution medium by centrifugation and then
