Sebastián Arana

Sebastián Arana is the Head of Process Solutions for the Life Science business of Merck. In this role, he oversees one of the broadest product portfolios in the industry – one that provides a differentiated offering that addresses the full pharmaceutical value chain from upstream to drug product.

Sebastián brings more than 25 years of global experience in marketing, sales, country, and business unit responsibilities, having held executive positions in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. He has led teams and managed portfolios across a broad range of industries, including healthcare, consumer, and industrial products.

Before joining the company, Sebastián served as the President of the U.S. & Canada Health Care Business Group at 3M, its largest geographical region, achieving year-on-year of organic sales growth and seamlessly integrating major acquisitions. Prior to this, he was the Global President of the Oral Care business at 3M.

He holds a bachelor's degree in business from Pontificia Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile, and earned an MBA from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S.

Sebastián is based in the U.S., at the company’s Bedford and Burlington, MA, USA facilities.
